The Orcas successfully chased down a massive target of 238, the highest ever in MLC history, thanks to Hetmyer's explosive unbeaten 97 off just 40 balls. He sealed the win by hitting Kieron Pollard for a six when five runs were needed off the final delivery.

Earlier in the match, MI New York had set a formidable total of 237/4, powered by Nicholas Pooran's scintillating unbeaten 108 from 60 balls, which included 7 fours and 8 sixes. Tajinder Dhillon provided valuable support with a rapid 95 off only 35 deliveries.

Despite the onslaught, Gerald Coetzee and Kyle Mayers managed to grab two wickets each, helping the Orcas regain some control.

Seattle's chase began shakily, with Josh Brown and Shayan Jahangir falling early in the powerplay. However, Kyle Mayers (37 off 20) and captain Sikandar Raza (30 off 9) launched a counter-attack, briefly bringing the chase back on track. Heinrich Klaasen then added a quickfire 26 off 13 balls before being dismissed by Rushil Ugarkar.

Hetmyer then took center stage, displaying incredible power-hitting. His innings included 5 fours and 9 sixes, with a remarkable strike rate of 242.50.

The game went down to the wire. Facing Pollard with five runs needed, Hetmyer executed a superb flick over fine leg for a six, sparking jubilant celebrations in the Seattle camp.

"This one is one of the best, because our backs were against the wall," said Hetmyer, who was named Player of the Match. "Today is one of those days, where I went with a clear mind and wanted to take the game as deep as possible."
